American Express Consulting is the consulting arm of American Express Global Business Travel. Consulting brings the talent, tools and management consulting skills needed to lead our client’s T&E spend and improve their return on investment. Consulting focuses on business and operational strategy, strategic sourcing and program optimization to help our clients manage their travel spend. Our specialized expertise includes: Policy, Change Management & Compliance, Travel Program Management, Business Intelligence, Travel Category Management (Air, Car and Hotel) and Cost Management. The Consulting team consists of Consultants from a wide variety of backgrounds such as Air/Hotel/Ground industries, travel, management consulting, IT consulting and general management. The primary area of focus for the position will be related to the Air practice line which spans corporate air program strategy design and execution. What You'll Do: The Air Consultant will support global air consulting project workstreams across multiple clients and lead smaller regional engagements. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with consulting, project management and industry experience. The Air Consultant will be driving the following: Engagement Execution:

Complete multi-workstream engagements, prioritize client requests and work objectives using appropriate project management methodologies and tools such as project plans and issue logs. Create deliverables within established engagement scope, quality standards and time frames.

Problem Solving & Analysis:

Develop hypotheses and identify data to evaluate based on client needs. Develop options/alternatives and create insightful recommendations in context of total engagement. Understand airline pricing/inventory management. Familiarity with data visualization tools and reporting (i.e. Tableau).

Communication:

Exceptional interpersonal skills, listening ability and written presentation skills. Ability to deal with ambiguity and present/discuss work results in a compelling manner. Distill complex subject matter into key messages for team members and clients.

Relationship Management:

Understand client organization and dynamics. Build strong working relationships with all key partners. Use American Express Global Business Travel and available industry tools and solutions to develop best-in-class results and standard processes.

What We're Looking For: Proven experience & understanding of the airline industry. Ability to accommodate client travel up to 20%. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, PMI certification a plus. Relevant experience within Air travel, such as with an airline, procurement, strategic sourcing etc. Strong analytical skills; ability to evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions. Strong communication skills; the ability to build a story and deliver that in a presentation. Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels within a team or client organization.
