Join the Operations and Manufacturing team as an Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering Manager and help us to achieve our mission of pioneering electric aviation. What success will look like for you, as an Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering Manager? You will be responsible for defining and communicating Manufacturing solutions for all production and prototype aircraft builds. Building, leading and developing a team of manufacturing engineers responsible for the development and implementation of all manufacturing processes, tooling & fixturing, manufacturing systems, compliance, and supplier collaboration. Manage and resolve complex technical issues related to manufacturing and product feasibility. Specify and deliver the equipment, systems, and tools necessary for prototype and series production. Work closely with the design teams and suppliers to ensure that manufacturing and assembly considerations are built into the design (DFM/DFA, etc.). Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and certifications related to manufacturing and aerospace quality management. Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancement, leading initiatives to drive continuous improvement. Forward thinking, you will be accountable for the implementation of the governance model of the manufacturing engineering organization, its adaptability across roles within the function based on the business needs. Accountable for the development and maintenance of the Manufacturing Engineering department under the Production Organisation Approval (POA). Implementation of six sigma principles such as APQP, PPAP and their deployment in NPI environments. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional development within the aircraft manufacturing engineering team. What would we like you to bring? We want you to be successful in your role. To achieve this, you will need to have proven experience with a strong background in high volume final assembly and lean manufacturing principles, with relevant experience in new product introduction (NPI). Experience in manufacturing systems required to efficiently design manufacturing processes and deliver high-rate production (such as ERP/MRP, MES, etc.) is essential. You should also have experience in the assembly of complex structures and systems to translate engineering design intent into manufacturing process instructions and identify control requirements. Experience in automotive, aerospace, or other associated industries is desired. Compliance: In line with your contract of employment, you will comply with any of Vertical's rules, policies, and procedures in force. Copies of the policies are available on the intranet.
