About Us: We are a small but well-established Fire & Security company based in Oswestry with a premises in Shrewsbury where materials etc can be collected from if you live nearer there (most of our work is that way). Our work is mainly in Shropshire but we do sometimes have jobs in surrounding counties. We primarily install and maintain fire alarms, extinguishers, CCTV, Access control & Intruder alarms in a wide variety of sites, such as pubs/restaurants, schools, NHS facilities, local government buildings, offices, warehouses, factories, historic properties, churches etc. The Job: We are seeking a technically minded person preferably with previous alarm servicing, cable installation and fault finding experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, possess excellent time management skills, and be capable of working both independently and as part of a small team. The role mainly involves installation of fire alarm systems, CCTV etc but also repairing faults and carrying out service visits plus other tasks that crop up occasionally (the job is very varied so you won't get bored). A company van, fuel card, laptop etc and training will be provided along with any tools you need to carry out your role. You won't be expected to do out of hours call outs or work at weekends. Head to the customer’s site with all of the materials and tools you need that you'll have collected the day before or that morning from our premises in Oswestry or Shrewsbury. Our installation manager will usually meet you at the customer's site to help plan the job and assist if necessary. Customer Interaction:

Head to the customer's site and introduce yourself to our contact, discuss the work or any concerns with the customer. Installation:

Carry out the installation neatly and efficiently. Our installation manager often helps with this and you can consult him for advice at any time. Paperwork:

Complete the necessary documentation and submit it to the office via our apps. Handover:

Explain and demonstrate the system to the customer. Maintenance Days: Plan your jobs a day or two in advance:

Check the month's service records via our apps and contact customers to book in for servicing to be carried out. Our office manager will often assist with this as some jobs need quite a lot of advance warning. Customer Interaction:

Head to the customer's site and introduce yourself to our contact and explain what work you'll be doing. Servicing:

Perform routine checks and tests. Advise:

Note any issues and discuss any potential improvements with the customer or with our office if that's more appropriate. Paperwork:

Complete the necessary documentation and submit it to the office via our apps. Maintenance days usually require travelling between multiple sites throughout the day so you'll need to book in customers in the same area and work out the most efficient order to do them. About You: You have some electrical experience, particularly with cable installations. You’re organised and manage your time well. You can work unsupervised but also enjoy being part of a team. You’re confident and personable when talking to customers. You’re comfortable completing paperwork and reports. Ideally you live in or near Oswestry or Shrewsbury. Formal qualifications are not a necessity but desirable. You will need to have good DC electrical fault finding skills. You will also need good IT skills, an understanding of basic networking, such as being able to set up point to point IP wireless bridges is desirable. Interested?
