Trainee or Part-Qualified HGV Mechanic Norwich, Norfolk Full-time, Permanent Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 (dependent on experience) Shifts: Monday - Friday with the potential for overtime Class 2 licence desirable but not essential Family owned commercial garage in Norwich is seeking a Trainee or Part-Qualified HGV Mechanic to join their skilled Father and Son team. The garage specialises in the repair and maintenance of a wide range of vehicles, from vans to HGVs, offering a dynamic and supportive environment to develop your skills. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in mechanics, with hands-on experience in a busy and thriving commercial garage. Responsibilities and Duties Support the team in performing repairs and maintenance on a range of vehicles, including vans, light commercial vehicles, and HGVs. Assist with preventative maintenance tasks such as inspections, oil changes, and tyre rotations. Conduct basic diagnostics and troubleshoot mechanical issues under supervision. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the workshop and parts inventory. Collaborate with senior mechanics to ensure efficient service delivery. Requirements and Skills Some experience or relevant training in vehicle mechanics (e.g., HGV, plant, or motor mechanics). Eagerness to learn and develop skills in the commercial vehicle repair industry. Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. A Class 2 licence is desirable but not essential. What We Offer Competitive salary between £28,000 - £35,000, depending on experience.
