The Liaison Mental Health service offers a comprehensive range of mental health specialities within one multi-disciplinary team so that all patients with a suspected or actual mental health problem within the general hospital can be assessed, treated, signposted and referred appropriately regardless of age, presenting complaint, time of presentation or severity of condition. The service puts an emphasis on diversion and discharge from the emergency department and the facilitation of early and effective discharge from the acute hospital site. Job responsibilities

Education/Qualification
Registered mental health practitioner with current professional registration - RMN, SW, OT Completion of Preparation for Mentorship/Practice Teacher/Fieldwork Educator qualification or willingness to complete Educated to degree level or equivalent. Evidence of continuous professional development Registered General Nurse / Qualification related to physical health AMHP / willingness to undertake training Formal teaching qualification. Experience
Substantial experience as a liaison mental health practitioner at Band 6 or above in the general hospital setting within any speciality (CYP, Adult, Older adult) Experience of multidisciplinary working in mental health care with complex cases Experience of working to objectives and meeting deadlines, within a performance management framework Experience of providing day-to-day clinical leadership and operational management Experience of supervising junior staff Experience of joint working with outside agencies Experience of working across multiple specialisms (CYP, Adult, Older adult) Experience of working in community settings Experience of managing budgets Experience of managing/triaging referrals Knowledge
