Then we currently have a fantastic opportunity for you, covering front line response and ad-hoc work across the Swindon and the South West Area.

Job Description:

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Operate ambulance equipment and respond to company requests

Communicate with the patient and others to determine, and then use, the correct combination of ambulance equipment, paramedic skills to meet patient requirements.

Lead and coordinate the team responding to an emergency

Evaluate the patient’s condition on the scene and perform preliminary diagnosis

Attend to injuries or sudden illnesses by applying a variety of pre-hospital simple and advanced treatments (first aid, CPR, administering injections and oxygen etc.) or surgical procedures

Use tech equipment and tools to stabilize patients or provide immediate treatment

Monitor patient’s condition en-route to the hospital or specified location

Collaborate with interested parties (police, firefighting unit, doctors etc.)

Adhere to established medical protocols and procedures as well as legal guidelines and health and safety standards

Keep abreast with new treatment and medical procedures through continuous training

Communicate effectively with patients and their relatives/friends

Document patients' conditions to other members of medical crew, such as emergency doctors and nurses, upon arrival at medical facility

Maintain current professional registration with HCPC

Ensure that advanced driving skills are maintained and whilst driving, ensure compliance with legislation and the Highway Code.

Ensure upkeep and cleanliness of vehicle, returning them to the base in a clean standard received & updating the Senior Management of any damage or issues to the ambulance vehicle

Qualifications:

To be shortlisted for this position, the following qualifications are essential:

Recognised Paramedic Qualification

Professional Registration HCPC

Recognised blue light qualification I.e. IHCD / Level 3 Emergency Response Ambulance Driving

Full UK Clean Driving Licence with a minimum of 2 years’ experience

All candidates will be required to undergo our rigorous compliance process including DBS checks and Reference checks in line with NHS employment standards.
