We are currently looking for an experienced Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) to join a dynamic local authority Emergency Duty Team in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester. This permanent position offers the chance to work with a supportive team of nine AMHPs and a dedicated Team Manager, helping deliver critical mental health support across Manchester.

Grade 8 (Senior Social Worker) plus an additional 20% for unsocial working patterns.

Your role as an AMHP:

Work 35 hours per week on an 8-week rolling rota with shifts including-Weekday shifts: 3 pm-2 am or 10:30 pm-9:30 am-Weekend shifts covering 24 hours on rotation.

Start assessments from home, then coordinate care across Manchester.

Conduct Mental Health Act assessments and address emergency social care needs.

To be considered for the AMHP role, ideally you will have:

A Diploma/Degree in Social Work and Social Work England registration.

AMHP qualification and post-qualification experience.

2-5 years of experience in a similar social work setting, including working with complex cases and lone working.

Flexibility to work out of hours, including weekends and Bank Holidays, ensuring 24/7 support.
