We are seeking an experienced Analytical Chemist to join our Research and Development team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to the development of cutting-edge materials and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Design and conduct chromatography analyses using HPLC, UHPLC, GPC, and GC, including mass spectrometry detection.

Develop and document new analytical methods to support various projects.

Perform routine and non-routine analyses of a wide variety of sample types.

Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instruments, performing urgent repairs when necessary.

Utilize titration techniques and associated software.

Solve complex problems with initiative, independent thinking, and scientific insight.

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure clarity and optimal support for analytical work.

Share knowledge and expertise to foster a collaborative environment.

Organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Promote a proactive attitude towards maintaining a safe working environment.

Additional Responsibilities

Conduct CoA testing of new suppliers’ raw materials.

Support R&D, applications, process development, manufacturing, regulatory, and sales through timely acquisition and reporting of analytical results.

Provide analytical support for non-dusting blend (NDB) full-scale remote toll manufacturing and local pilot plant.

Generate product specifications and develop analytical methods as needed.

Backup QC testing for CoA in case of equipment failure at contract labs.

Participate in round-robin analytical studies to ensure consistency and competency across NDB QC labs.

Maintain and ensure accuracy of NDB analytical instrumentation (HPLC, GC & ICPOES).

Document and review standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Ensure compliance with SI Group’s Quality policy, safety regulations, and ISO 9000 programs.

Desirable Skills

Experience with statistical analysis software.

Previous QC lab experience.

Strong IT skills, including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).

Knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry and polymer chemistry.

Excellent data handling and reporting skills.

Proactive problem-solving and independent thinking.

Essential Skills

BSc in Chemistry (Analytical Chemistry preferred).

5+ years of experience as an analytical scientist in materials or a related industry.

Proven experience in chromatography with various detection types, including mass spectrometry.

Working knowledge of spectroscopy and wet chemistry.

Fluent in spoken and written English.

Job Types:

£30,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
