The positions will be based in Wynyard and we are looking for a variety of skills covering the following disciplines; Elemental Analysis and Characterisation & Microscopy. The successful candidates will be responsible for planning, carrying out and reporting chemical and physical analyses to meet the needs of internal and external customers. Job responsibilities include: Plan and carry out chemical and physical analyses using techniques including atomic spectroscopies, classical wet chemistry and particle sizing to meet the requirements of customers. Microscopy - To plan, carry out and report electron microscopy evaluations of pigments and related materials in support of fundamental technology development, product and process development and product regulatory support. Interpret and report the results of chemical and physical analyses to meet both the data and the information needs of customers through timely and accurate reporting. Contribute information and knowledge of analytical and physical techniques to aid research and development programmes. Improve and develop both current and new methods of analysis and physical testing to meet changing business needs. Ensure equipment used is maintained in a fit-for-purpose state to deliver optimised high quality results in a safe and efficient manner. Candidate requirements: The role requires the job holder to have a minimum of a BTEC HNC in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or other related science subject or equivalent experience. Job-Related Work experience, Skills/Knowledge Requirements: Experience of carrying out investigations using analytical chemistry. Characterisation & Microscopy - Experience of carrying out research and development studies and experience of operating electron microscopes and independently interpreting images.
