Have oversight of all animals and their housing across Livability Millie College Maintaining records for health & safety and compliance. Regularly inspect the grounds, paddock/enclosure areas for any health and safety concerns and ensure that they are maintained to a high standard at all times. Management of the timetable for animal care sessions to ensure that it aligns to Livability Millie College. Consistent communication with Education Enterprise Manager to ensure effective enterprise delivery. Support any activity on commercial viability and enterprise activity for students and community engagement. Identifying any repairs or replacements of broken equipment and fencing, ensuring routine checks are in place. Highlight any routine veterinary and farrier care to keep all animals in good health and completing paperwork and ensuring animals have up-to-date vaccinations. Support animal related projects on site, in line with direction from the Animal Care team and Enterprise Lead Support our growing excellent working partnerships with external bodies to support the growth and development of the college and its animal care programme including local authorities, RSPCA, DEFRA, RSPB, Dorset Chicken Rescue etc. Be responsible for alerting the Maintenance Team in cases of site or buildings damage and any need for removal by contractors. Work with the Enterprise Team in creating engagement opportunities for the public through pre-bookable and chargeable activity. Support the Enterprise Team in providing interesting and engaging content for social media and newsletters. Support on the ordering of materials and equipment for the Animal Care operation. Communicate and engage with the Education and Maintenance Team in ensuring staff, student and participant safety through robust risk assessments. To be a point of contact for Animal Care volunteers, guiding through the activities, providing resources and ensuring that they are delivering safe operation Participate in all Millie College staff training as appropriate and complete relevant E-learning as requested and relevant to your role. To be responsible for and able to evidence own personal development by undertaking relevant training, attending meetings, conferences and events ensuring that you are updated in all matters relevant to the role within your To undertake any other duties which may be required by the Enterprise Lead or the Education Enterprise Manager in their absence To be proactive in your personal development and 1:1 meeting with your line manager, bringing a positive energy and contribution to the College. To be prepared to learn and improve skills relevant to the post, through in-house training and/or external courses (i.e. first aid, fire marshal, food handling and safety). To comply with all relevant Health and Safety procedures. To be prepared to work out of hours as/if necessary and regular weekend work as directed and agreed with your line manager.
