The company is known for offering a range of services within the transport and logistics sector, including air, sea, and specialist freight services. Animal Freight Specialist Role and Responsibilities: Handling Incoming Calls: Respond to customer inquiries and provide updates on animal transport shipments. Job Quotations: Prepare and provide accurate job quotations for animal freight services, including transport and customs costs. Processing Animal Freight Jobs: Manage and process animal transport shipments from start to finish, ensuring the safe and timely handling of animals in compliance with regulations. Liaising with Contractors: Coordinate with airlines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other contractors to ensure smooth operations and safe transport of animals. Job Costing and Invoicing: Track and calculate costs for each animal transport job, ensuring accurate invoicing for services rendered. Customs and Documentation: Prepare and submit all required customs and veterinary documentation for animal shipments, ensuring compliance with international regulations. Desk Management: Manage your desk in an organized, efficient, and tidy manner, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Animal Freight Specialist Skills and Experience: A Full UK Driving Licence or equivalent (Essential) Animal Transport Experience (Desirable): Prior experience in animal transport, with knowledge of animal welfare regulations and handling procedures. Import and Customs Knowledge (Desirable): Experience with customs clearance and import operations for animal shipments would be advantageous. Freight Experience (Priority): Prior experience in the freight industry, especially sea freight or air freight, will be given priority. Dangerous or Licensable Goods Handling (Desirable): Experience handling dangerous or licensable goods, particularly in the context of animal transport, is highly desirable. Relevant training and certification will be required, or must be completed upon employment. Training and Development: Willingness to learn new processes and systems is essential, as in-house training will be provided. Relevant Certifications: Successful candidates must have or be willing to complete any relevant courses and certifications required for handling and transporting animals, in accordance with industry regulations.
