Designer (Apparel and Accessories) Location:
JD Group, Hollinsbrook Way, Pilsworth, BL9 8RR Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, 40 hours per week What You'll Be Doing:
Design and develop Exclusive and licence brand clothing and accessories for men, women, and kids Interpret initial design briefs into relevant commercial, technical designs Take responsibility for each range/brand to grow the apparel category Design products that achieve target cost and brand positioning Understand garment technology including fit and function Stay aware of market trends and competitor products within the outdoor market Collaborate with the Head of Exclusive brand to ensure product ranges are relevant Ensure designs are 'fit for purpose' using knowledge of outdoor/technical product design Visit stores regularly to understand the customer and store environment Work in partnership with graphic designers and the development team to create 'best in class' products Develop detailed tech packs for accurate prototypes and costings Knowledge/experience of PLM and CLO is an advantage Present detailed line art of ranges to the nominated Buyer Lead design meetings Collaborate with the web and content team for proper brand positioning Work across all outdoor retail fascia's Work within the critical path and strive to improve lead times Maintain flexibility across different brands while preserving brand DNA Engage with various outdoor technical brands and aid in their development Conduct factory and supplier visits when necessary Attend trade shows and retail visits What We're Looking For:
Experience in technical/outdoor clothing design Fully experienced in Illustrator Proficient in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Word, Excel Able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and often challenging environment Work quickly and effectively while maintaining a high level of accuracy Highly organized and methodical Creative thinker and problem solver Ability to articulate ideas and explain design decisions Calm under pressure and able to multi-task numerous briefs Self-motivated and able to use downtime wisely The Company:
