Southampton, GB As our next Application Developer using the MERN stack, you will be responsible for developing web applications. Your role involves working with Public Cloud (AWS) services to enhance applications. You will test applications for performance and functionality, collaborate with other developers on projects, and work alongside development members and business partners to develop microservices. Your day-to-day activities include designing and implementing client-side and server-side architecture, writing effective REST APIs and Micro Services, as well as troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading packages. Additionally, you are expected to write technical documentation. You will drive the development of web applications using the MERN stack, leading the testing and maintenance of these applications. This role is instrumental in ensuring the full web development life cycle is met and that AWS services are leveraged effectively. We are seeking an experienced MERN Application Developer to join our team and contribute to both existing and new applications. Unit with React Testing Library / Jest and E2E test automation with Cypress Industry standard CI/CD Orchestration Tools (Git Flow, GitHub Actions and Docker) A detailed and working knowledge of AWS services Experience in refactoring legacy applications into modern, scalable, and maintainable solutions Release procedures, coding design and documentation Demonstrated organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities Ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance Must demonstrate initiative and effective independent decision-making skills Ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy Bonus Skills An understanding of internal business change management procedures Deeper knowledge of Docker pipelines DevOps strategies, designing and implementing Application Development platform, code and infrastructure best practices/strategies Python or Jython SQL You are looking for a role where you can utilise your understanding of the web development life cycle and AWS services to drive innovation in our applications.
