Job Opportunity: Applications Engineer (LC, GC, Spectroscopy, Mass Spec & Sample Prep) We’re excited to offer an excellent opportunity for an Applications Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will be split across the Sales Team and Service & Support Team. It is primarily office-based, at our Sevenoaks HQ, but will involve occasional travel to client sites across the UK, with occasional assignments in other European countries. Key Responsibilities Day-to-day management of the demo and applications laboratories at our Sevenoaks-based headquarters, including ordering consumables & maintaining in-house equipment. Identifying new application opportunities & development of applications for our innovative product portfolio (such as the Waters Radian ASAP mass spectrometer, the VUV Analytics LUMA GC detector & the accroma SamplePrep robot). Developing applications to solve customer challenges and generating proof statements to demonstrate the proposed solution. Taking ownership of hardware & software demonstrations for customers. Providing technical & consultative expertise to ensure we’re always offering the right solution for our valued customers. Supporting engineers with installation of bespoke solutions at customer sites, including customer training and method implementation. Customer application support by phone, email and remote portals. Delivering customer training. Presenting applications work to customers during the sales process, at domestic & international conferences and, on occasion, regulatory bodies. Completing reports accurately & in a timely manner. Requirements, Skills & Qualifications A Degree in a Scientific discipline is essential. Methodical & independent troubleshooting skills. Commercial awareness and the ability to identify and address customer pain points. Experience developing applications & methods for GC and LC is essential. Experience developing applications & methods for solid sample preparation is advantageous. This role is predominantly office-based, in our Sevenoaks HQ, but will require travel up to 25% of the time. Travel includes domestic and across Europe, and both are usually planned at least 2-3 weeks in advance for the successful candidate to schedule. Experience with GLP & other industry-relevant guidelines & regulations would be advantageous. A full UK driving licence. What do we offer?
