Job Description: Job Summary

We are currently recruiting to our Outpatient Departments at ESHT for a 6 month contract Appointment Clerk. The successful applicant will be based at Eastbourne Hospital.

The Outpatient Booking department is a fast-paced environment, and the successful candidate will need to demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, IT knowledge, and the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team while meeting strict deadlines.

Main Duties of the Job

The trust is committed to supporting and developing their staff through apprenticeship programmes. If you do not have an NVQ, you will be required to undertake a qualification as part of the apprenticeship scheme. The apprenticeship linked to the role is a diploma in Business Administration level 2/3.

Core hours are Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm. Hours can be discussed at the interview.

Person Specification Qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths

Ability to undertake additional training on departmental IT and manual systems

Computer literate

Experience

Essential

Previous admin and clerical experience in a busy office environment or similar skills

Desirable

Experience and understanding of a Patient Administration System (PAS)

Customer care skills and experience, preferably within a healthcare environment
