Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Approved Mental Health Social Workers or Mental Health Nurses to join our clients Adult Mental Health Social Work Team on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.

The Duty and Intervention team forms part of adult mental health services offering both urgent and non-urgent assessments to people presenting with severe mental health issues and/or acute risk. The composition of the team reflects an integrated multi-disciplinary model of mental health and social care.

You will provide intensive, recovery-focused Mental Health support to clients both in the hospital and in the wider community. You will also be required to take part in the Island-wide rota in the carrying out of ASW/AMP duties including; liaison with GP’s, FMEs and Psychiatrists and developing and maintaining multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working.

Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale, as above. The current Band 7 salary is up to £69,605 plus an annual bonus of £1,605 plus higher penalty rates; 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH. Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS service for annual leave and sick leave.

Person Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with current full Social Work England (or equivalent devolved UK registration) or Mental Health Nurse with NMC registration. Post-graduate AMHP training. A minimum of two year's current or recent practice experience working as an AMHP. Ability to make judgments and decisions with confidence, and to cope in stressful situations, prioritise and manage own workload. Be in possession of a clean and current car driving licence.
