Role Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Developer to join our dynamic team. You will drive the technical direction of projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices, and collaborate with external teams including product and other development teams to successfully deliver product and integration features. This is a hybrid position where you will work from Aptia office in Chichester as well as from your home address. This role will initially be a 12 months contract, with potential scope to extend. Here's what you'll be doing: Enabling the delivery of Solutions that incorporate practices founded in Qualitative Engineering, which include the following high–level pillars: Security, Scalability, Reliability, Maintainability and Testability. Drive the technical direction of projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices. Mentor junior developers, fostering their growth and professional development. Have strong problem–solving skills and advocate best practices and principles within the organisation. Champion good agile practices that are foundational to product delivery. Build strong relationships with product owners, architects, analysts, testers, and the leadership team. Attend and contribute to team ceremonies including Retrospectives, Sprint planning, Analysis activities, and Sprint reviews to ensure timely delivery of product releases. Identify and mitigate risks, and proactively address technical challenges. Write and test code, conduct code reviews, and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in software development. Identify opportunities for process improvements and optimisation of development workflows. Here's what we're looking for: Proven experience as a software developer, with a track record of delivering complex software product releases. Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Essential Technical Skills– C#, SQL Server, Oracle PLSQL, relational database design, .NET (framework & core), Entity Framework, MS Test, Moq or similar unit test framework, Services (Rest / SOAP), DevOps – CI/CD including the use of Quality Gates to maintain high levels of code, Agile (Scrum/Kanban), Test Driven Development, WCF, ASP.NET particularly MVC. Desirable Technical Skills– Experience of middleware e.g., NServiceBus, Kafka, TFVC/Git/Github, Design Patterns, Azure PaaS (API Management / LogicApps).
