We have an exciting opportunity to join our talented aquatic ecology and entomology team in our lab at the Sci-Tech Daresbury Campus. You can expect: Salary range 26-35K+ depending on experience The chance to work on a wide variety of interesting and challenging projects including large scale infrastructure, brownfield sites, minerals projects and work commissioned by Government Agencies including projects that have won industry awards Payment of CIEEM membership fees Ongoing support via a bespoke training programme Flexible working and work from home options Additional Annual Leave added for every year worked up to 30 days Life assurance

Scope of role: Laboratory analysis of biological samples, including aquatic invertebrates to at least family-level. Scope to identify terrestrial groups where applicable Seasonal field based ecological, invertebrate, water quality, macrophyte, and/or fisheries survey work Interpretation of field and laboratory data to report findings Manage own projects (including tenders/fee proposals and client liaison) Production of ecology reports Supervision of junior staff

Successful Candidates will have: Relevant degree level qualification Membership of CIEEM or equivalent Technical expertise in aquatic ecology, particularly invertebrate identification to at least family level Excellent communication, team working, project and time management skills ‘Hands on’ approach, initiative and self-motivation Ability to work without direct supervision Ability to write clear and concise reports Current and full driving licence Enthusiasm, confidence and a passion for Ecology and Entomology

Desirable: FBA Accredited identification skills Species-level aquatic invertebrate identification skills Knowledge and experience of terrestrial invertebrate survey methods and identification, with specialist group interest
