We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Architect to join our London studio and work on large scale residential and education projects across the RIBA stages. Our studios are made up of 50 people in London and 20 in Rotterdam. We work with focus and attention, quietly pioneering, sharing, and collaborating with each other. Key Responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities will vary depending on the project, the scale and its complexity but as a guide here are some of the key activities you can expect in this role: Researching and developing solutions to architectural problems. Preparing and/or commissioning measured surveys and site reports. Preparing presentation materials using Revit and by hand for internal and external purposes, including attending client and user presentations and incorporating feedback. Drafting and amending concept and detail designs using Revit and by hand. Drafting and amending technical designs and production information using Revit and by hand. Establishing and integrating technical information and statutory requirements into design and production drawings, including preparation of drawings for planning and building control approval, tender and construction purposes. Preparing written specifications and contract documentation, including assisting in drafting architects instructions and certificates. Attending relevant internal and external meetings, following up action points and contributing to agenda items where appropriate. Attending site meetings with the project architect and contributing where appropriate. Attending internal project planning and office management meetings and contributing to project and office management where appropriate. Assisting with running projects and supporting other team members in the design and delivery of a range of projects. Maintaining office and project files, preparing drawing issues, and maintaining project QA records. Researching project briefs, materials, and construction products and systems. Undertaking post-completion assessment and de-briefing for clients and building users. Attending training and CPD activities. Working as part of a team supporting colleagues and contributing to the work of the team.
Skills & Experience
We are interested in meeting ARB registered Architects, who have experience of working on or delivering large scale residential projects in the UK. You will be an excellent designer, with a keen eye for detail, and the ability to present your ideas and work clearly. You will enjoy working in a team, happy to collaborate and share ideas with others. As we frequently work within project programmes, it is essential that all members of our team have strong organisation skills and healthy work/life practices. We provide training on Revit as standard; however, some experience or knowledge of working in Revit would be beneficial. Understanding of building technologies and environmental design and ability to employ structural theories, construction techniques, and processes. Knowledge of technical standards, regulatory frameworks, and health and safety requirements. Design and detailing of building works. Knowledge of software including Revit, AutoCAD, Creative Suite, SketchUp, VRay, 3dsMax, or Enscape is desirable (however training can be provided). Understanding of how a business operates and the factors involved in the management of an architectural project. Knowledge of the professional duty of care arising from the relationships between client and architects, employer and employee. Experience of client and stakeholder negotiation, consultation, and contract administration is desirable.
