Job Description:

What you will get up to day to day Prepare outline, tender, and contract specifications aligned with the project design intent of architects, engineers, and other stakeholders. Coordinate specifications with related project documentation prepared by others. Provide specifications that align with designers’ risk profiles and project objectives. Produce documentation that reflects the contractual arrangements stipulated for the project. Collect and organize design information to create keynotes for use in BIM models. Utilize NBS Chorus to develop and manage specifications (full training provided). We are looking for someone who Ideally has a background in the construction industry, whether as a designer, surveyor, contractor, or manufacturer. Has an innovative mindset with a willingness to expand your knowledge and expertise. Has a desire to embrace new challenges in a fast-evolving field. Demonstrates excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Has an understanding of contract documentation, procurement processes, and materiality is highly desirable. Shows strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach, and a positive, “can-do” attitude are key to succeeding in this role. Has the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-quality documentation within tight deadlines is critical. Some of the key responsibilities Prepare Specifications

Develop outline, tender, and contract specifications that reflect the project design intent, working closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders. Ensure specifications incorporate all relevant codes, standards, and best practices while maintaining alignment with client goals.

Coordinate Documentation

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the specification aligns seamlessly with project drawings, schedules, and other documentation prepared by consultants or contractors. Act as the point of contact for coordinating changes and ensuring all documentation is up to date and consistent.

Risk Management

Provide specifications that reflect and address designers’ risk profiles, ensuring potential issues are mitigated through clear and concise documentation. Ensure specifications address safety, sustainability, and quality considerations in line with project objectives and regulations.

Contractual Compliance

Prepare documentation that accurately reflects the contractual arrangements and obligations stipulated for the project. Work with project teams to ensure specifications meet the legal and commercial requirements of all parties involved.

BIM Integration

Collect and organize design information to create keynotes and align them with BIM models, ensuring seamless integration of specifications and project data. Collaborate with BIM teams to provide specification support for digital models, promoting efficient workflows and data accuracy.

Client Collaboration

Engage with clients to understand their needs and aspirations, ensuring specifications are tailored to achieve their design, sustainability, and commercial goals. Provide advice on material selection, compliance, and best practices to support informed decision-making.

Technical Expertise

Maintain a working knowledge of evolving industry standards, materials, and construction methods to ensure specifications reflect the latest innovations and regulations. Provide technical guidance to clients and project teams on specification-related matters.

Training and Development

Participate in ongoing training to master tools like

NBS Chorus

and

NBS Source . Share knowledge and contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and standards.

Quality Assurance

Review and proofread specifications to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with project requirements. Conduct quality checks to confirm that all documentation adheres to agreed standards and project timelines.

Sustainability and Innovation

Incorporate sustainable practices and innovative materials into specifications to support environmental and commercial objectives. Advise on lifecycle costs and performance considerations for specified products and materials.

Project Management Support

Monitor project timelines to ensure specifications are delivered on schedule and meet the demands of each project phase. Work collaboratively with internal and external teams to resolve specification-related challenges as they arise.
