The Area Operations Manager is the leader of a diverse and skilled team of Facilities, Training Area and Rural professionals. The team size is 65 personnel, including seven direct reports and a network of suppliers. This is a ‘Prime’ contract and you will also closely collaborate with an on-site Client who shares a joint mission with us to provide integrated support services and functional infrastructure across the UK Defence Training Estate and promote the delivery of safe, sustainable and effective military training. You will be part of the Area Leadership team, which also includes two other Area Operations Managers as well as other FM and Rural SMEs, reporting into the Regional Operations Manager. As an Area Operations Manager, you will be the driving force behind operational success, leading your team and ensuring excellence in all aspects of service delivery. Key Responsibilities:

Inspire and Lead : Foster a culture of continuous improvement, prioritising mental health, safety, and wellbeing across your team. Customer Excellence : Build and maintain exceptional relationships with clients, employing modern collaboration techniques to deliver outstanding results. Operational Accountability : Oversee all statutory, mandatory, and reactive maintenance to meet KPI targets, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. Project Leadership : Take an active role in construction and refurbishment projects, ensuring smooth delivery from upgrades to conservation efforts. Financial Stewardship : Manage budgets, profit and loss, and ensure value-added services are delivered within the operating plan. Regional Collaboration : Work with other management team members to share insights, support audits, and contribute to regional initiatives. The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a compelling, effective leader with a proven history of delivering operational excellence. If you thrive in a dynamic, multi-site environment and excel under pressure, we want to hear from you. Experience :

Strong background in Hard and Soft Facilities Management for multi-site operations. Skilled in creating and executing service delivery plans, policies, and procedures. Proven success managing KPIs and SLAs in complex operational settings.

Skills :

Exceptional planning, organisation, and customer service skills. Ability to manage rapidly changing priorities with a focus on results. AP duties experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications :

Educated to degree level in Facilities Management or equivalent qualifications/experience. Professional membership with a relevant association (e.g., IWFM) is desirable but not essential.
