Join Southern Water as an Area Risk Specialist and play a key role in ensuring the quality, safety, and resilience of our water supply.About the RoleAs an Area Risk Specialist, you will lead the the assessment of risks to our water supply systems and support the development of our asset system plans to remediate them. You will also be responsible for the accuracy of the Water Safety Plans for the Eastern Area, ensuring compliance with Regulations 27 and 28 of the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations. You will provide consistent risk and resilience assessments that inform critical decision-making, helping Southern Water manage and mitigate risk effectively. While your base can be flexible, occasional travel to our offices in Chichester, Durrington, or Falmer is required.Key ResponsibilitiesComplete regulatory risk assessments (Water Safety Plans) for submission to the DWI, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.Analyse and report risks against performance requirements and support the building of system plans to direct remedial efforts effectively.Support the asset lifecycle process to ensure appropriate remedial action is undertaken.Collaborate with various teams to produce and integrate risk and resilience reporting, including regulatory updatesWhat You Need to SucceedDemonstrable experience in risk management, particularly within water processes (networks and/or treatment works).High numeracy and literacy with exceptional attention to detail.Proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Excel.Why Join Southern Water?At Southern Water, we believe in fostering growth, innovation, and collaboration.
