South East London & Kent / East Sussex Our client is a leading International Building Products Manufacturer with a track record of selling to contractors, specifiers, merchants, and public sector customers. They have a great reputation for career development with excellent staff retention. The current Sales Manager has climbed the career ladder from a similar Sales position. They are currently recruiting for an Area Sales Manager to cover the South East of England Region.
Candidates that apply will need to live within this Region, preferably in East Sussex, Kent, or Greater London. You will ideally need to have some external sales experience, preferably in a product-oriented environment. The role is "person led," and therefore you must be engaging, articulate, and confident. This client is looking for a professional individual who is well-educated and prepared to put in the hard work to develop their Sales Region and career. The Role
As Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing a wide range of customers, including Contractors, Specifiers, merchants, and public sector clients in the region. The successful candidate will build on existing relationships through daily face-to-face visits to develop accounts and maximize Sales and Company presence. You will also seek and identify sales growth and business opportunities to increase turnover in the Region. Candidate Profile
An enthusiastic manner and positive attitude Ability to listen and understand customers Confident and professionally presented Excellent relationship-building skills Good organizational skills Self-motivated Positive and energetic Excellent telephone manner Willingness to spend occasional nights away when necessary Living in the South East of England, on or near to the "patch" Experience in selling to Building Contractors / Merchants / Specifiers is an advantage, though not essential Experience in external sales is preferred, but the company has trained others from internal sales roles Full UK Driving Licence Passport To summarise:
