Our studio is situated in a riverfront building in the heart of the Historic Dockyard in Chatham, Kent, UK. We are growing fast, developing our games using cutting-edge technology and delivering these on multiple platforms: PC, PlayStation 4 and 5 and Xbox One and Series S/X. We are looking for an Art Director who can push their artistic talent and vision, motivating and inspiring world-class teams in delivering stunning vehicles, realistic atmospheric worlds, and believable characters as we immerse our players in a number of experiences. You’ll be collaborating with the development teams to ensure the game simulation is technically driven to get the best out of the engine. We would like you to lead the way in researching and developing new tools and technologies relating to art techniques to put the right tools in the hands of artists to give them creative freedom to deliver amazing final artwork. You should have a track record of resolving problems in visuals, pipeline management, and content creation. Responsibilities Manage and build the teams of artists across all disciplines, from Character, Environment, and World Building including collaboration with external partners and outsourcers. Guide and mentor artists, ensuring team productivity and playing a key role in their own career development. Deliver effective feedback across all art disciplines. Facilitate and lead regular art build reviews. Collaborate with the team to identify great ideas and steer them through the development process. Lead our drive for quality and authenticity within the games. Understand the technical direction and liaise with the core development team. Regularly update the Director of Product Development and key stakeholders throughout the business as we drive to hit deadlines. What We Look For In You +10 years in the games industry with at least 5 years experience leading teams. Strong understanding of art fundamentals and multiple art styles. The ability to adapt to and innovate new styles and techniques. Experience across multiplatform and UE4 & UE5. Proficiency in production software including 3DS Max, Maya, Blender, etc. An artistic vision and drive to ensure content is of a high standard and consistency. Strong leadership skills and ability to think creatively and lead a large number of people toward a singular vision. Experience with effective feedback for outsourcing and contractors.
