Job description Location: East London Type: Full-Time, Long TermSalary: Competitive, Dependent on Experience Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and skilled Art Technician to join a vibrant secondary school in East London. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative individual to support the Art Department and contribute to the development of students’ artistic talents. Role and Responsibilities: Classroom Support: Assist teachers during art lessons, providing technical support and helping students with their projects.Preparation of Materials: Prepare and set up art materials and equipment for lessons, ensuring all necessary resources are available.Maintenance: Maintain and organise the art studio, ensuring a safe and clean environment. Regularly check and repair art equipment.Student Assistance: Support students in using equipment safely and effectively, providing guidance on techniques and materials.Displays and Exhibitions: Assist in creating displays of student artwork around the school and organising art exhibitions.Administrative Duties: Handle administrative tasks such as maintaining records, photocopying, and filing. Qualifications and Experience: Education: Relevant qualifications in Art, Art & Design, or a related field.Experience: Previous experience in an educational setting or as an art technician is desirable.Skills: Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Proficiency in various art techniques and familiarity with art equipment and materials.Personal Attributes: Creative, enthusiastic, and passionate about art. Ability to inspire and motivate students.
