Aspiring Psychologist - Emotional and Mental Health Support
Are you an individual who is passionate about supporting children with their mental health needs?
If so…
A really rewarding position has become available for an Emotional and Mental Health support worker to work in a school in Maidenhead. This is an excellent position to gain really valuable experience whilst also making a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable children.
These students struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD and various other mood disorders. They need someone who can facilitate a positive and safe environment for them to learn and grow.
As a mental health assistant, you will directly be involved in helping children manage and cope with their emotions and mental health.
Your day-to-day duties will involve:
Supporting and shadowing the class teacher.
Providing 1:1 support for the SEN students.
Helping run exciting lessons to ensure the classroom is a fun and engaging place.
Behavioural management as required.
The role would suit someone who is resilient and confident in supporting young people with challenging mental health needs. This is a great opportunity for aspiring psychologists, social workers, therapists, and counsellors.
Experience working with vulnerable children is desirable but not essential. Those with a background in sports, art, or drama will also be at an advantage. Graduates in a relevant field will also be considered.
