We are looking for a dedicated Aspiring Psychologist to support children with moderate learning difficulties and additional mental health needs. This school is based in Hailsham for children aged 4-16 and has specialised in SEMH to provide exceptional education and extra help for traumatised children and young people.
You will be helping children who have come from trauma/neglected backgrounds, challenging behaviour, ADHD or Autism and have developed mental health issues due to their needs, requiring additional support with improving social, emotional, and mental well-being.

Responsibilities of an Aspiring Psychologist:
Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students. Ability to perform conflict resolution and de-escalation. Behaviour and pastoral support. Take an active role in forward planning with therapists. Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students. Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students. Ensure safeguarding of students, in line with procedures. Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD.
Requirements of an Aspiring Psychologist:
Impose patience and understanding. Have an understanding of challenging behaviour. Always be adaptable in any given situation. To be able to develop trusting and positive relationships with students. A psychology degree is desirable but not necessary.
