Psychology - Autism, Speech & Language Support Assistant Location: Leatherhead Are you an outstanding Graduate looking to gain experience before pursuing a career as a SEN Teacher or Speech and Language Therapist? Are you motivated by supporting and helping children to reach their full potential? This Special Educational Needs School in Leatherhead caters to children aged 4-16 with severe learning difficulties (SLD). Most children have speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), and an Autism diagnosis. This school is looking for a passionate and committed Graduate / Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist to work as a SEN Teaching Assistant. You will be supporting a small class of 7-10 students, working in partnership with the school's teaching staff, therapists, and support staff to deliver specific interventions that aim to boost students' learning, development, and language acquisition. Job role and responsibilities of a Special Needs Teaching Assistant: Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students Provide behaviour and pastoral support Take an active role in forward planning with therapists Build robust and effective relationships with students Adopt a practical approach to meet the individual needs of students Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills Be caring, compassionate, and a good listener Willingness to work 1:1 and in small groups with students Ensure safeguarding of students, in line with procedures Provide personal care support Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD Experience is not required, but candidates should demonstrate an interest in working with children with SEN. Start date:

September 2024 Salary:

£90 - £110 per day, Mon-Fri, 8.30am-3.30pm, term time only No previous experience is required. You MUST have the right to work in the UK in order to apply - no Visa sponsorship.
