Aspiring Youth Justice Worker - High Wycombe Education and Training - Ideal LSA role for Criminology and Psychology graduates. This LSA role is in a specialist provision for children aged 11-19 who have experienced significant trauma and face social, emotional, and mental health challenges. There is a strong focus on holistic and restorative practices, fostering empathy whenever possible. The school distances itself from punitive measures, using manual handling training only when absolutely necessary. A practical trial day will be conducted in the school to determine if the role is suitable for you. This trial is contingent upon your ability to start ASAP, taking into account any notice period or university commitments. Can you enhance the students' lives, ensuring their safety and demonstrating the value of education? Additionally, can you ensure the safety of the children? You will receive extensive SEN and safeguarding training, including MAPA training. As an aspiring clinical psychologist, you will have the opportunity over the course of 10 years to explore areas of genuine interest and identify where your skills need enhancement. **Working with secondary-aged students (11-19) with EHCPs, including those with Autism, OCD, and both verbal and non-verbal communication challenges, as well as children with acute social anxiety. **The role involves physical work combined with a pragmatic approach to making academic progress tailored to each child's context. **You will encounter some anti-social behavior, which is part of the role when supporting society's most vulnerable children. The school provides excellent training and support through its training system. **Various therapies and holistic processes are introduced; even small progress is celebrated as a success. **You will work with children with Pathological Demand Avoidance and Pervasive Developmental Disorder. **There is a real focus on all ages, as the cognitive abilities of each student will vary significantly. **Positive engagement is essential, providing children with a sense of acceptance. Traditional talking therapy may not always be effective, requiring different approaches. **You will give students objectives and promote as much independence as possible, particularly for those in assisted living.
