Assembly Engineer

to join the team on a

full-time, permanent

basis.

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

The company specialises in delivering both precision machining and sub-contract machining solutions, defence project work and the design and manufacture of superior quality work-holding solutions. Founded in the UK, in 1939, they have been working with customers to turn complex ideas and concepts into solutions for over 80 years and have built an exemplary international reputation.

PAY:

£16-£18 per hour (Depending on experience)

WORKING HOURS:

Monday to Thursday (07:45am until 16:15pm) and Friday (07:45am until 15:15pm)

OVERTIME:

Overtime is available consistently and is paid at time-and-a-half.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assemble mechanical components and systems according to technical drawings and specifications Plan and install hydraulic circuits primarily for workholding fixtures Undertake inspection of individual details, highlighting problems prior to assembling to aid the assembly process Conduct quality checks on assembled products to ensure compliance with company, customer and industry standards Troubleshoot and resolve assembly and installation issues effectively Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimise assembly processes Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety protocols Document assembly processes and contribute to process improvement initiatives Attend customer sites on installations and commissioning with the occasional overnight stay REQUIREMENTS: Relevant vocational qualification(s) in engineering or mechanical assembly (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds) and/or be a time-served engineer with extensive experience in mechanical assembly, ideally within a small to medium organisation Extensive experience and knowledge of mechanical assembly processes A strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and components Experience of working with pneumatic systems and components Experience in troubleshooting problems with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems Hands-on experience with assembly tools and equipment A proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics An appreciation of electrical circuits and controls (desirable but is not essential)
