We are looking for an experienced Fibre Optic Technician to support our client at their site in Southend on Sea, Essex. You will be responsible for assembling and testing components ensuring the highest quality standards are met, enabling commitment to deliver reliable and efficient solutions to their clients. Role Responsibilities

Fibre Optic Assembly

Precisely assemble fibre optic components according to engineering drawings and specifications - Handle fibre optic cables, connectors and related components with utmost care to prevent damage and maintain product integrity. Conduct inspections to identify and rectify any defects or discrepancies in the assembly process. Component Assembly

Precisely assemble and integrate telecommunications components including connectors, circuit boards and electronic modules according to engineering drawings and specifications - Ensure the correct alignment and positioning of components for optimal functionality and performance. Collaborate with engineering teams to implement improvements in the assembly process. Quality Assurance

Conduct thorough testing of assembled products to ensure compliance with quality standards - Troubleshoot and diagnose any issues or malfunctions in the assembly and implement corrective actions as needed. Document and maintain accurate records of testing procedures and results. Collaboration and Communication

Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineers and quality to address technical challenges and ensure product excellence. Communicate effectively to report progress, issues and potential improvements in the assembly process. Safety Compliance

Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment, reporting any safety concerns or incidents promptly. Keep the assembly area clean, organised and safe following company health and safety guidelines. Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to prevent damage or deterioration. Ensure equipment and tools are properly maintained and report any issues for timely repairs. Professional Skills

Previous experience in fibre optic and telecommunications assembly is highly desirable. Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications. Familiarity with testing equipment and quality control processes. Experience of using hand tools within a workshop environment. Personal Skills

Strong attention to detail and precision in assembly work. Consistently produce high quality output in accordance with engineering/technical drawings. Precision and accuracy when performing repetitive tasks. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Commitment to maintaining a high standard of safety in the workplace. Good eyesight (colour vision) and hand/eye coordination. KPI’s/Measures of Success

Product is assembled in accordance with the technical drawings and Fibre installation instructions. Product is produced in accordance with the works order requirements. Fibre Optic assemblies are produced to the correct QA standards. Assemblies are produced in allocated time (set on each job). Product defects are reported to supervisor/line manager. Adhere to all Health and Safety guidelines, reporting any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
