This job posting is for a Senior Engineer with at least 10 years of experience in the water sector. The role involves working on several high-profile projects aimed at addressing water resource and resilience challenges. The key project focuses on transferring 115Ml/d of recycled water via the Grand Union Canal, along with the development of potable water treatment works and trunk mains. The successful candidate will also contribute to the Thames to Affinity Transfer scheme, a large-scale project involving water sourcing from the SouthEast Strategic Reservoir. Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Coordination:

Report to the Engineering and Environment Lead and oversee the design and environmental aspects of the projects. This includes coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring smooth collaboration between various stakeholders like Severn Trent, the Canal and River Trust, Thames Water, consultants, and internal teams. Project Progress Monitoring:

Monitor technical progress, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget, and report to the Programme Management Board on key design aspects and DCO submission. Design Support & Collaboration:

Help integrate environmental mitigation and public value opportunities into the project design. Work alongside the engineering, planning, land, legal, and environmental teams to achieve overall project goals. Operations Control Development:

Develop operational control philosophies for the schemes and liaise with Affinity Water Operations and Asset Management to ensure that the projects are practical and sustainable. Procurement & Commercial Support:

Assist the commercial team in creating technical specifications for procurement processes and bulk supply agreements. Health & Safety Leadership:

Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and welfare for the team, contractors, and the public. Lead by example and ensure safety protocols are followed. Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Process Engineering (or equivalent). Chartership:

Chartered or near-Chartered status with a relevant institution such as ICE or CIWEM. Experience:

At least 10 years of experience in the water sector, with good knowledge of project management principles like scheduling, risk, and stakeholder management. Software Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office. Driving:

A full UK driving license is required. Leadership & Teamwork:

Comfortable working independently and leading teams, with a strong work ethic and the ability to learn and adapt across multiple disciplines. Key Attributes:

Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide multi-disciplinary teams. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Moral, legal, and social responsibility in behavior with stakeholders.
