GBP 60,000 - GBP 70,000 / year Description We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join our business as we continue to scale. As an Asset Support Engineer, you will support ENODA customer requests by responding to, troubleshooting, and resolving issues related to field devices. The role is responsible for maintaining adequate response times to satisfy the internal and external SLA requirements. The role serves as a key liaison between internal teams and customers to ensure alignment with the goals and objectives of ENODA and our customers. You'll spend your time: Providing L1/L2 technical assistance to end-users or their contractors via phone, email, or in-person Guiding users through systematic troubleshooting steps and documenting solutions in the knowledge base Diagnosing and resolving problems, including electrical hardware, controllers, computing systems, communication systems, and external interfaces Participating in rotational shift coverage as part of the L1/L2 customer support system, and acting as an escalation point when not on primary support rotation Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their technical needs, addressing their concerns promptly, and ensuring overall client satisfaction through quality support Documenting all client interactions in the support system Providing technical guidance and support to client engineering teams on design needs and their project planning Supporting subcontractors and field engineers to set up new ENODA equipment in customer substations and ensuring compatibility with existing systems Solving technical problems related to substation infrastructure within agreed timeframe, ensuring compliance with safety, physical and cyber security, industry standards, customer process, and regulations Monitoring the customer support system for continuous availability and improvement Providing feedback to ENODA's operational team, design teams, suppliers, and vendors to improve the components for better in-field performance Ensuring compliance with safety standards, physical security requirements, cybersecurity protocols, industry standards, customer processes, and relevant regulations The key experience we're looking for: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., Master's) preferred Minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering roles with a focus on substation and transformer or other power equipment, including design, installation, operation, or maintenance Strong technical expertise in distribution substations, including industry standards, regulations, and best practices Training customers, operators, and other personnel Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders A working knowledge of sensors, control systems, secure communication protocols, distribution substation topologies, equipment and faults in power systems, their signatures, and protection methods Operating Systems (Windows and Linux) and hardware/network diagnostics tools The following would be advantageous: Fluent in one or more European languages Relevant certification to enter electrical substations or certify high voltage electrical systems Experience or training in dockerised software systems and enterprise software Experience with distribution system planning, operation, or field services What we offer: Salary in the region of GBP 60K - GBP 70K dependent on skills & experience Private Medical Insurance Flexible Pension policy tailored to your requirements 33 days annual leave + Holiday purchase/sell scheme Dental cash-back scheme Cycle-to-Work scheme Season travel ticket loan Enhanced company sick pay & Income Protection Life Assurance This role is based onsite at Quartermile in Edinburgh.
