The Assistant Accountant will support the Finance team in ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash management, and compliance with accounting standards. This role is essential for maintaining financial stability, supporting decision-making processes, and contributing to operational efficiency. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Optimise daily cash flow
to ensure the availability of funds for operational needs. Perform bank reconciliations
to promptly address and resolve discrepancies, ensuring accurate financial records. Record and process financial transactions
to maintain up-to-date and accurate payment and receipt data. Prepare cash flow forecasts
to support strategic budgeting and decision-making. Reconcile balance sheet accounts
to ensure compliance with financial policies and accuracy in reporting. Manage accruals and prepayments
to support month-end close processes and deliver accurate financial statements. Maintain and update fixed asset registers
to ensure compliance with depreciation policies and accurate reporting of asset values. Assist in preparing accounts to trial balance stage
to ensure financial statements are complete and ready for review. Support audits
by collaborating with internal and external auditors, ensuring all documentation and explanations are provided. Engage with stakeholders
to address queries and deliver insights that enhance financial understanding. Ensure compliance with policies and regulations
to maintain governance standards and mitigate risks. Identify process improvement opportunities
to enhance efficiency and adopt best practices within the Finance team. Qualifications and Experience: ACCA, ACA, CIMA qualification (or working towards) or equivalent experience. Proven experience in cash management, financial accounting, or a similar role. Strong numerical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, professionally and confidently. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
