Operational buying of material and plant requirements for a major rail project.
Ensure projects receive material orders to the required quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
Negotiate with suppliers that are not covered by frameworks.
Support operational teams with day-to-day challenges on contracts.
Maximise the use of framework agreements to ensure savings and rebates are achieved.

You will be managing a wide variety of material and plant requirements for a major rail project in the South, supporting project teams across a wide variety of civil engineering related categories, ranging from £100k - £1m+ for large capital expenditure items. Candidate Requirements
Our client is looking for Assistant Buyers with 3+ years materials procurement experience from any contractor or subcontractor. You will have strong materials procurement experience, with a track record of delivering internal stakeholder requirements for projects. You will have helped to deliver projects across infrastructure, construction, or MEP for any reputable contractor. A relevant degree or CIPS is desirable.
