Your Role in Our Transformation as Assistant Chief Executive

As the

Assistant Chief Executive , leading the Policy, Performance, and Communications Division, you will play a pivotal role in delivering on the Council’s bold ambitions. We’re looking for someone who can take the reins in driving vision, innovation, and organisational change across the Council, ensuring we meet the needs of Nottingham’s citizens, today and into the future.

You’ll be a key driver of Nottingham’s ambitious

improvement plan , supporting the Council’s top leadership and making a lasting impact across the organisation. Here’s how:

Deliver Transformation:

You will lead the Corporate Programme Management function, ensuring effective support, oversight and delivery of the Council’s ambitious transformation agenda

Shape Policy : You will lead the way in crafting strategies that are evidence-based, aligned with best practices, and embedded into our Strategic Council Plan and other key business plans. Your insights will help steer Nottingham towards sustainable success.

Boost Performance : You'll lead the charge in delivering on our promises, overseeing the Performance Management Framework and ensuring a culture of continuous improvement. With your leadership, we'll track, benchmark, and enhance our performance, driving better outcomes for Nottingham’s citizens.

Amplify Communications : You’ll play a critical role in engaging effectively with the people of Nottingham, ensuring that citizens’ voices shape our decisions. You'll help us communicate our actions transparently and proactively, fostering trust and collaboration with residents and stakeholders.

Drive the strategic direction of Nottingham City Council, ensuring our policies and actions reflect our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusivity, while being grounded in evidence and best practice.

Champion Change : Spearhead transformational projects and change initiatives that impact every facet of the Council. You will be the driving force behind a culture of continuous improvement—from improving service delivery to enhancing how we engage with our community.

Collaborate Across Boundaries : Work in close partnership with stakeholders across the city and beyond. Your leadership will strengthen ties with central government, Core Cities, and strategic partners to propel Nottingham’s development.

Inspire Innovation : Nottingham is ready for a bold, forward-thinking leader who isn’t afraid to push boundaries. From addressing the climate crisis to future-proofing our services, your innovative solutions will pave the way for success.
