Assistant Civil Engineer Job Overview Contribute to the creation of Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Statements, Service Strategy Reports, and Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SuDS) designs. Assist in the design of drainage systems, road infrastructure, services, and earthworks across a range of exciting projects. Use AutoCAD to prepare detailed engineering drawings for a variety of projects. Design foul and surface water drainage systems with MicroDrainage. Carry out vehicle swept path assessments using AutoTrack. Utilize ground modelling software to design horizontal/vertical alignments and plan earthworks. Collaborate with highway authorities, drainage authorities, and the Environment Agency to ensure compliance and smooth project delivery. Apply national design guidance to work, contributing to high-quality, well-regulated designs.

Assistant Civil Engineer Job Requirements A relevant degree in Civil Engineering. At least 1 year of practical experience in a civil engineering role. Hands-on experience with preparing reports, such as Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Statements, showcasing your ability to communicate key project details clearly. Proficiency in using AutoCAD to create accurate and detailed engineering drawings, with a keen interest in enhancing your drafting skills on exciting projects. Practical experience in the design of foul and surface water drainage systems using MicroDrainage. Familiarity with carrying out vehicle swept path assessments using AutoTrack. Experience using ground modelling software to design horizontal and vertical alignments, earthworks, and more. Exposure to working with highway authorities, drainage authorities, and the Environment Agency. A good understanding of key national guidance and regulations.
