3-year fixed term contract About the Role The RIBA Library at 66 Portland Place is a world class resource for architecture and architectural history. We are on the move! To help ensure our collections move safely and access to them is maintained, we are recruiting for an Assistant Curator / Archivist to support the management and oversight of the move. You will work as part of our friendly team and will assist the consolidation of the RIBA collections storage facilities, support the decant of collections from 66 Portland Place to their new home, and support other moves associated with RIBA’s House of Architecture project. You may also be called upon to help us with supporting accessibility to collections during the project period. What are we looking for? Experience managing collections-related move projects, delivering work on time, and successfully meeting deadlines within a project-based environment. A strong ability to work within complex, interlinked, and overlapping project schedules, ensuring all tasks are efficiently coordinated. Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills, with a collaborative approach to achieving project goals. Strong planning and organisational skills, with meticulous attention to detail. Experience working within a collections management environment, ideally within an Accredited Museum or Archive. Experience with at least one significant collections move is highly advantageous. Experience working with multiple stakeholders on complex projects. Experience of working with a recognised Collections Management database for documentation of collections and their movement. Good working knowledge of collections storage standards, ensuring the safe and secure handling of items. Experience in supervising move contractors on-site, ensuring smooth and efficient operations during the relocation process. Why Join us?
