Assistant Design Manager – Leading Fit-Out Contractor We are working with a leading fit-out main contractor renowned for delivering high-profile commercial projects across the UK. Due to an exciting new project, the complete fit-out of a landmark commercial office building in London, they are seeking to strengthen their team with the addition of an Assistant Design Manager. The Role As the Assistant Design Manager, you will work closely with the Design Manager and project team to ensure the successful delivery of the project through design stages 3 to 6. You will be responsible for coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors to maintain project quality, timelines, and budgets. This role will see you based both on-site and at the contractor’s London office, providing a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and oversee the transition from design to completion. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the Design Manager to deliver projects through RIBA Stages 3–6. Assist in managing design consultants to ensure design intent is maintained and deadlines are met. Work on-site to monitor design implementation, resolve queries, and ensure quality control. Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and provide updates on design progress. Support the coordination of design packages, ensuring they are aligned with project objectives. Assist in managing design changes, ensuring they are effectively communicated to all stakeholders. Ensure compliance with building regulations, industry standards, and client specifications. Key Requirements / Experience Degree in Architecture or a related discipline. Proven experience delivering projects across RIBA Stages 3–6. On-site experience within the fit-out, commercial, or office sector is highly desirable. Experience managing design consultants and liaising directly with clients. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
