We are working with an established and dynamic fashion company who are looking for a Girlswear Assistant Designer specialising in wovens & denim. They partner with key high street brands across the UK and Europe, creating trend-driven collections that align with the latest market demands.

Based in Leicester, as an Assistant Girlswear Designer, you will be responsible for the creative design and development of woven & denim products. You will work closely with successful high street clients, interpreting briefs to deliver commercially viable collections that meet customer expectations while maintaining brand identity.

Main Responsibilities include:

Design and develop girlswear woven and denim products with a focus on bottoms and dresses for high street retailers. Analyse market trends, fabric innovations, and colour palettes to develop fashion-forward, commercially appealing designs. Create comprehensive technical packs, including detailed sketches, fabric selections, trims, and garment specifications. Work closely with Buyers and Garment Technologists to ensure design concepts align with commercial viability and technical feasibility. Participate in fit sessions, offering insights on fabric, fit, and construction to meet quality standards. Partner with the sales team to present collections, incorporating client feedback to refine final designs. Oversee the sampling process, ensuring pre-production samples are delivered on time and meet quality expectations. Stay informed about fashion events, trade shows, and competitor activities to understand market trends and retail performance. Person Specifications:

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience designing girlswear. In-depth understanding of UK and European retail markets. Proficient in design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD for creating technical drawings. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and clients. A sharp eye for detail and a passion for developing trend-led designs. Highly organised with excellent time management abilities. A proactive, positive team player with a solution-focused mindset.
