Full Time We are looking for an Assistant Director to lead the strategy, development and promotion of ABI policy and technical proposals on general insurance, with a particular focus on issues of importance to commercial insurers. This is an exciting opportunity to represent the interests of the insurance and long-term savings industry to government, Parliament, and other stakeholders. What’s the job? Leading a talented team, you will oversee the ABI's response to all Government and regulatory initiatives impacting the commercial general insurance market. This will include leading policy debates, working with colleagues to produce high-quality events, and advancing the ABI’s reputation among member companies as a source of indispensable expertise on commercial general insurance policy issues. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic oversight of policy development initiatives impacting the Commercial General Insurance market. Lead the ABI’s relationship with relevant government departments and other important stakeholders. Lead policy debates at ABI Committees and Working Groups. Lead the work of the Commercial Insurance Committee. Act as a leader in the ABI’s General Insurance & International Directorate. Cultivate strong and enduring relationships with senior member executives. Lead, develop and motivate a team of high performing individuals. Work with the ABI’s Membership and Corporate Affairs teams to produce high-quality events. Work closely with the Director General and the Executive Team. Contribute to the leadership of the wider ABI as part of the ABI’s Management Team. What we’re looking for: Ability to lead, manage, develop and retain a highly motivated and performing team.
