Fantastic career opportunity in a newly created role Amazing benefits About Our Client Our client is a large organisation in the not-for-profit sector, providing a best in class service to its customers across Wales. They are renowned for their commitment to providing excellent services and enhancing the lives of the people they support. Job Description Oversee the financial operations of the organisation Develop and implement effective financial strategies Ensure compliance with statutory financial requirements Manage the accounting and finance team Collaborate with the Director of Finance to set financial goals Prepare and present financial reports to the board of directors Monitor and manage the organisation's budget Participate in fundraising and grant application processes Stand in for the Finance Director at Exec and Board meetings when required The organisation is about to embark on a restructuring of the Finance department, so this role will play a pivotal part in the success of this major project. The organisation will also be implementing a new finance system in Q3 2025, so this role will also play a pivotal role in implementing the new system. The Successful Applicant A successful Assistant Director of Finance should have: A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA or CIMA) Experience in a Senior Leadership role, preferably in a not-for-profit organisation; however, other sectors will be considered Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent knowledge of financial statutory requirements and regulations Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Strong communication and presentation skills It would be beneficial if this individual had led/managed the treasury function for an organisation.
