Reviews and approves payroll to ensure accuracy. Participates in interview process, hiring decisions, and ensuring all staff is held accountable to all policies and procedures. Oversees development, planning, scheduling, conducting, and monitoring of in-service training programs, on-the-job training, and onboarding programs for nursing staff. Ensures compliance with all AMAP policies and procedures. Provides assessment of medical/nursing needs for the individuals in all programs. Participates in New Staff Orientation, as assigned. Ensures all program staff receive adequate medical training. Supports Nurses with additional training needs (i.e.: AMAP practicums, PEG tube training, etc.) Collaborates with Nurses on all external health care activities including, but not limited to hospitalizations, discharges, surgeries, and urgent care. Functions as the RN for RN vacancy. Assists in the development of new programs to improve delivery of services, including the identification of resources to address the clinical needs of all individuals. Ensures plans of nursing care are generated and maintained as needed. Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to Nursing; communicates and interprets policies and procedures to all Nursing staff. Ensures regulatory compliance through review of nursing reports and nursing documentation. Ensures timely corrective action plan for all medical audits. Used as a clinical resource in incident investigations as needed (requires the satisfactory completion of Training Program for Incident Investigators). Minimum Requirements: Minimum three years nursing experience. Valid New York State Registered Nurse's License. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Professional experience in an OPWDD setting preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of state and federal regulations (OPWDD, OMH, DOH, etc.) Excellent written and communication skills. Valid New York State Driver's License. Ability to flex schedule, as needed.
