We have a vacancy within our Finance Department and are currently recruiting for the role of an Assistant Financial Controller on an 8-month Fixed Term Contract. We are looking for candidates who have relevant and proven experience seeking an opportunity to develop their skills and join a growing Organisation.

Shift Pattern:

Day shift - 39 hours per week working 07.30 to 16.30 Monday to Thursday, and 07.30 to 12.30 on Fridays, with designated breaks.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting, Forecasting and Supporting Management Decision-Making:

Support the finance team including payroll checking, sales and purchase ledger, audit & compliance, financial planning & analysis, and business partnering. Deliver accurate site Financial Performance reports in a timely manner (i.e., according to the stipulated corporate deadlines), including presentation of reasons for variance to stated targets, and/or variances to financial trends. Support the payroll process by conducting checks, helping to ensure deadlines are met and errors are minimised, thus maintaining HMRC and pension compliance.

Steer the organisation to improve profitability, through:

Creation and maintenance of accurate costing records for monitoring product and customer profitability – including a robust review of system overhead recovery rates.

Steer the organisation to improve cashflow, through:

Support all processes in relation to Cash Flow reporting & governance, including submission of forecasts/variance analysis into the FC. Point of approval for processing supplier payments. Support the recovery of Overdue Debts.

Lead financial compliance, through:

Help to ensure the business is fully compliant with accounting standards.

Person Specification: A minimum of 2 years previous payroll experience with previous experience in an accounting function. Manufacturing, AP & AR, Management Accounts experience. ACA/ACCA/CIMA graduate qualified. IT Skills: Microsoft Office, ERP Systems, Job-specific IT systems: Financial Systems i.e., OneStream, Banking. Ability to work in a varied role. Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills. Attention to detail, good quality and accuracy. Adherence to standard operating procedures. Effective communication skills.
