Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Financial Controller to join our dynamic finance team at Fanatics Collectibles. The successful candidate will provide support to the Financial Controller by assisting in general accounting and financial reporting activities, to help ensure accurate and timely compliance with all internal & external reporting requirements for Topps International.

Responsibilities:

Month End Close Duties: Prepare and maintain month end accounting schedules for the main UK trading company Topps Europe Ltd & Topps Europe Holdings Ltd. Assist in producing the consolidated books and records to achieve the closing reporting requirements of Fanatics Collectibles. Assist in preparing all Balance Sheet reconciliations using the group reporting tool. Assist in preparing the balance sheet 'Month on Month' review for group reporting. Reporting & Analysis:

Ensure periodic reports are submitted for the business e.g. monthly vendors, customer item sales. Assist the Financial Controller in maintaining Royalty control schedules for the business. Prepare ad hoc financial reporting requests, other financial analyses and special projects requested by group and management. Process Improvements:

Assist the Financial Controller to both document & improve accounting policies, processes and ultimately controls across all areas of the business. Assist in preparing the business to scale-up and be SOX compliant based upon process improvements. Assist with any other cross-functional accounting and finance projects including systems implementations and operationalization of technical accounting and reporting matters. Statutory Compliance Work:

Preparation of accounting schedules and maintaining controls of Indirect and Direct Taxes in Topps Europe. Assist in the preparation of the Statutory Accounts and Tax packages for Topps Europe Ltd & Topps Europe Holdings Ltd. Preparing and submitting government reports e.g. statistical surveys. External Audit Requirements:

Assist with requests from Fanatics Collectibles external auditors. Assist with managing and developing an efficient, clean and successful audit. Technical Compliance:

Assist with driving compliance with GAAP and implementation of new standards. Supporting the Financial Controller to guide other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy and provide technical accounting support. Team Collaboration:

Work with the finance team to provide business support to Topps International to help continue to drive growth and expansion. When identified, applying observations and recommendations regarding operational issues. Maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders in finance as well as the wider business. Qualifications:

Bachelor (or higher) degree in accounting or finance preferred. Qualified Accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA preferred, or minimum of 5 years' of technical accounting and/or financial reporting & control experience required. Must have strong analytical skills, be methodical with a real attention to detail. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines - be deadline driven. Good understanding and implementation of an internal control environment. Ability to think proactively and work in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment. Experience handling annual audits and working with internal and external audit functions. Strong in the use of spreadsheet programs and other software applications for financial analysis, experience with ERPs (Oracle, D365) is preferred. Experience in ERP implementation projects and other efforts to increase automation in accounting closing procedures an advantage. Knowledge of US GAAP and ability to work between International GAAPs and US GAAP would also be an advantage. Experience in building cross-functional relationships and partnering with key stakeholders. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in English is required, with German or Italian language helpful.
