Role reports to: Director Finance Directly reporting to this role: N/A Purpose The Assistant Controller handles all accounting activities to support preparation of operating budgets and financial reporting. The insight that is provided to the business helps them to run a healthy and growing organization. Activities and responsibilities Timely implementation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including the associated reporting within the organization Qualitative control of financial transactions within the accounting periods Determination and booking of incidental business transactions, as well as the creation of provisions Account reconciliation in the general ledger versus sub-ledger Coordination and preparation of the annual financial statements with external partners/auditors/tax consultants Work with HR on payroll related topics (including assistance with journal entries) Determination of corporate taxes for the formation of provisions Coordination and preparation of corporate tax returns with internal and external partners/tax advisors Monitoring and preparation of periodic VAT returns and other reports Active monitoring of the cash flow Cross-departmental project work for process optimization Be the contact person for local audit and tax consultants Business partner for internal and external clients Job requirements Completed business studies with a focus on finance or relevant work experience 3-4 years of practical experience in the field of financial accounting including knowledge in the field of controlling Solid expertise in MS Excel and knowledge of MS Office, preferably knowledge of SAP Good planning and organisational skills Independent and ability to work in a team Flexible, resilient and result-oriented Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced, changing, highly demanding environment Good written and verbal communication skills (English and the country located) Hands on attitude (from opening the mail to manage an audit)
