The Padel Club - Gloucester Assistant GM About Us: The Padel Club is a thriving and award-winning indoor padel club. We are passionate about padel and offer a unique and engaging environment for players of all ages and skill levels. Our club provides high-quality instruction, organized events, equipment rentals, and fosters a strong sense of community among our players. In addition to our core padel offerings, we have a vibrant food and beverage program and a well-stocked retail shop. Role Overview: As an Assistant GM, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our club. You will lead by example, providing exceptional service to players and guests while overseeing various aspects of our facility. When the General Manager is absent, you will step up to manage day-to-day operations, maintaining high standards and promoting a positive experience for everyone. Responsibilities: Leadership & Management:

Provide strategic direction aligned with the company’s mission and values. Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team. Oversee daily operations across departments (rentals, events, food & beverage, and retail).

Health and Safety:

Take ownership of health and safety within the club. Ensure risk assessments are up to date and specific to the club. Address accidents/incidents promptly and update policies and procedures as needed.

Financial Management:

Support the development and management of the annual operating budget. Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to achieve goals. Handle accounts payable/receivable, and inventory management.

Player Experience:

Attract and retain players, fostering a powerful sense of community. Ensure a positive and welcoming experience for all players and guests. Address player concerns professionally and promptly.

Food & Beverage & Retail:

Oversee food & beverage and retail operations. Manage menus, pricing, and inventory for the food & beverage program.

Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role within the sports or hospitality industry. Proven experience in managing a multi-departmental operation. Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills. Passion for the padel sports industry and a strong understanding of member needs and expectations. Experience in the food & beverage and retail industries is a plus.
