17th February 2025 23:59 Eastleigh Swim Club (ESC) based in Hampshire is looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and committed person to join us as our new Assistant Head Coach. ESC is a well-established and friendly SwimMark-accredited club based at Places Leisure in Eastleigh, with additional sessions run at Oaklands Community Pool in Southampton. We operate an integrated development programme which starts with our swim school and produces swimmers who have competed at County, Regional and National levels. Our Masters programme, successfully running for a year, is one of our club's exciting developments. With 18 active swimmers, we are keen to further integrate the Masters group into the club’s activities, building on their recent participation in our Club Championships and aiming for county and national competitions in the future. Our club is looking for an ambitious and committed person to assist our Head Coach in leading the team, and in return offers a genuine opportunity for the right candidate to play a major role in shaping its future. We are looking for someone with the following 5 key attributes: Comfortable working collaboratively with swimmers, parents, coaches, and the committee to promote a positive and inclusive environment which reflects the club’s culture and ethos. Able to work effectively with our Head Coach to ensure the club's strategy is implemented, helping all our swimmers to maximise their potential. Confident in providing both leadership and support to our team of dedicated coaches and teachers. Able to adapt their approach to successfully engage with swimmers of varying abilities and aspirations. Keen to inspire through their enthusiasm. The role is part-time and will include morning and evening training sessions. It will also involve attending weekend open meets and county/regional championship competitions. However, we are a pragmatic club and flexible in our approach, so we can likely accommodate your working patterns. The successful candidate will at minimum hold the ASA Level 2 Coaching Award or the Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate. They will either already be an Assistant Head Coach at another club or be able to demonstrate that you have sufficient experience to step up into the role. We offer a competitive rate of pay which is dependent on experience and are looking to move quickly with this appointment. We will be scheduling initial interviews for the last week of February, with the successful candidate ideally able to join us shortly after.
