Mercure Oxford Hawkwell House is a picturesque boutique hotel, that occupies three buildings, twoof which 19th century manor houses bursting with character. The hotel is newly refurbished with a décor based on Oxford style vintage fashion.

Set amongst 3 acres of private gardens and only 2 miles from Oxford city centre Mercure OxfordHawkwell House Hotel is a beautiful country manor in the picturesque village of Iffley. A total of 77 rooms, all en-suite, are divided between two buildings, each with an entirely different character.

It's a 10 minute bus ride, from the bus stop outside the hotel, to the city centre and train station, or a relaxing 35 minute walk along the riverside Thames Path National Trail, which is just steps away from the hotel.

Job Description

Team Management

  • Ensures the appropriate behaviour and impeccable presentation of staff under his/her responsibility
  • Organises the welcome and integration of new employees
  • Prepares the work schedule, taking everyone's skills into account
  • Prepares the team's training plan and tracks implementation
  • Trains the team on the floor process as defined by the hotel
  • Ensures that documentation and information in hotel rooms is well presented and up-to-date
  • Analyses guest comments and implements any necessary corrective actions
  • Familiar with the services provided at the hotel and informs guests

Professional Techniques / Production

  • Signals any technical faults and follows up repair work
  • Cleans and tidies rooms, bathrooms and common areas in line with the rules of hygiene and cleanliness and the procedures implemented by the hotel
  • Ensures that rooms look attractive
  • Checks that equipment is in good working order, informing the Housekeeper of any anomalies
  • Ensures that guest documentation in the rooms is complete and up-to-date
  • Applies the procedure for handling lost property
  • Respects guidelines on the use of cleaning products
  • Handles hotel equipment, complimentary welcome gifts and room linen with due care
  • Is responsible for cleaning and restocking the trolley every day
  • May have to clear room-service trays
  • Is responsible for the "master key"
Qualifications
  • Previous 2 years experience in Team Leader in Housekeeping (hotel operations will be an advantage)
  • Guest - focused personality is essential.
  • Prior experience working with Opera or a related system.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
  • Fluency in English, additional languages are a plus.
