As the Assistant Head of Department for Electrical Installations across both our Cambridge and Huntingdon Campus, you will support the Head of Department to provide high-quality management, leadership, and guidance across the curriculum and to provide an excellent learning experience which ensures high achievement for all students, through exemplary practice in teaching, learning, and assessment. You will also improve outcomes for students by achieving and maintaining high standards of performance through tracking, monitoring, and inspiring staff and students in addition to playing a pivotal role in Quality and developing the area further. We are looking for the following: Passionate about education and developing learners’ aspirations. A natural leader with the charisma to inspire. Someone who is enthusiastic and passionate about supporting colleagues and learners, has extensive relevant experience in teaching in a Construction area, and has good knowledge of working in FE. Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate relevant industry skills is essential for the role. You should have current Health & Safety knowledge relevant to the role and good interpersonal, administrative, and communication skills; being organised and able to meet deadlines is also essential. You should have relevant subject trade qualifications. A teaching certificate such as DET, DTLLS, Cert ED, or PGCE is essential for the role.
